Stilnox
What is Stilnox?
Stilnox is a prescription sedative used primarily to treat insomnia. This is a medication designed to help initiate and maintain sleep.
Important information:
It should never be taken by children under the age of 18. Women who are pregnant are not advised to take Stilnox. It should only be taken when a full night’s sleep can be assured before operating dangerous equipment.
Before taking this medicine:
Alcohol should not have been consumed within two weeks of starting Stilnox.
How should I take Stilnox?
Stilnox is most effective when taken on an empty stomach.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Missed dosages should be postponed until the following night; taking Stilnox at a late hour can make waking up in the morning difficult.
What happens if I overdose?
An overdose may drastically impair consciousness, even with a possibility of light comatose. Medical attention is necessary, even if signs of discomfort are not present.
What should I avoid while taking Stilnox?
Alcohol has extremely negative effects when taken with Stilnox.
Stilnox side effects:
Side effects of Stilnox may include fatigue, nightmares, headache, dizziness, hallucinations, irritability, nausea, and stomach pain. Rare occasions of sleep walking have also been reported.
Stilnox dosing information:
Most usually, Stilnox is administered in one 10mg tablet directly before bedtime. Stilnox is not meant to be used for periods longer than two to four weeks, unless instructed by a doctor.
What other drugs will affect Stilnox?
Muscle relaxers, anti-depressants, antihistamines, epilepsy medications, and pain relievers may also interfere with the drug’s effectiveness. Women who are pregnant are not advised to take Stilnox.
