What is Tramal?

Tramal is in the analgesic family of medicines. It is what is commonly called a painkiller.

Important information:

Tramal is a tablet whose active ingredient is tramadol hydrochloride. It is sold in four distinct strengths to suit patients’ needs.

Before taking this medicine:

Consult doctors before taking Tramal if you have the following: lung, kidney, liver, pancreas or stomach problems; sensitivity to opioids; epilepsy; substance dependence; plans to become pregnant or breastfeed.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the dose as soon as it is remembered. The next dose should be taken within 12 hours.

What happens if I overdose?

Contact emergency services immediately, as excessive Tramal can cause convulsions and breathing problems.

Tramal side effects:

Side effects include dizziness, sedation, headache, constipation, nausea and vomiting, dry mouth, and sweating.

Tramal dosing information:

2 50 or 100 mg tablets are taken twice daily, while 1 150 or 200 mg tablet is taken twice daily.

What other drugs will affect Tramal?

Carbamazepine, coumarin, heart beat medication, certain antibiotics, and medicines for mental conditions like SSRIs.
