Fiorinal
What is Fiorinal?
Fiorinal is a combination of Butalbital, Aspirin, and Caffeine. It is usually used for tension headaches.
Important information:
The Butalbital in Fiorinal is a controlled substance and may only be taken or carried by the prescribed. Fiorinal is considered a stimulant under World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) classifications. Use may disqualify you from athletic competition.
Before taking this medicine:
Talk to your doctor if you have a bleeding or clotting disorder. Talk to your doctor if you are alergic to any NSAID.
How should I take Fiorinal
Take as directed. Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine after long-term use.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as soon as convenient. Do not take additional medicine to make-up the missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical treatment immediately. Overdose may be fatal.
What Should I Avoid while taking Fiorinal?
Avoid consumption of alcohol. Avoid medicine containing alcohol. Avoid operating machinery.
Fiorinal side effects
Side effects include: slow heart rate, shallow breathing, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, fainting, stomach pain, nausea, gas, unusual bruising or bleeding, and ulcers.
Fiorinal dosing information
Dosage varies. Normally 1-2 capsules every 4 hours.
What other drugs will affect Fiorinal?
Avoid any medicines that contain Aspirin, Caffeine, or alcohol. Avoid any NSAIDs or blood thinners. Avoid MAO inhibitors.
