Fioricet

What is Fioricet?

Fioricet is a combination of Acetaminophen, Caffeine, and Butalbital. It is commonly used to treat headaches.

Important information:

The Butalbital in Fioricet is a scheduled substance and may only be taken or carried by the prescribed. The Acetaminophen in Fioricet may cause liver damage if abused.

Before taking this medicine:

Do not consume alcohol while taking Fioricet. Inform your doctor if you have or have had any liver or kidney diseases such as cirrhosis. Do not take Fioricet if you have taken MAO inhibitors in the past 2 weeks.

How should I take Fioricet

Orally. Take as prescribed by your doctor. Do not cut tablets for smaller dosage.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as convenient. Do not take additional medicine to make-up for the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdose may be fatal. Seek medical attention immediately if an overdose is suspected.

What should I avoid while taking Fioricet?

Do not take medicine containing alcohol. Do not consume alcohol. Avoid operating machinery.

Fioricet side effects

Confusion, Dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, nausea, abdominal pain, euphoria, and situational insomnia.

Fioricet dosing information

Dosage varies. Normally 1-2 tablets every 4 hours as needed.

What other drugs will affect Fioricet?

Avoid medicines containing alcohol, Acetaminophen, or Caffeine. Avoid stimulants.
