Tussionex

What is tussionex?

Tussionex is a combination of hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine, and it is used to treat cold or flue symptoms such as cough, sneezing and stuffy nose.

Important information:

An overdose on tussionex can be dangerous. Side effects may hinder your ability to think or react to situations.

Before taking this medicine:

Make sure you are not allergic to hydrocodone or chlorpheniramine. Tell your doctor about an allergies, respiratory problems, stomach or intestinal problems, glaucoma, urination problems, Addison’s disease, or a liver or kidney disease.

How should I take Tussionex?

Do not take it in amounts larger than prescribed or recommended. Shake the oral solution before you consume it.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Do not double the dosage if you’re near your next dose.

What happens if I overdose?

Seek medical attention if you have severe symptoms. Symptoms can include nausea, dry mouth, cold skin, severe drowsiness or dizziness, slow breathing and heart rate and fainting.

What should I avoid while taking Tussionex?

Do not drive while taking tussionex.

Tussionex side effects:

Drowsiness, dizziness, anxiety, mood changes, and sweating.

What other drugs will affect Tussionex?

Atropine, glycopurrolate, mepenzolate, and bronchodilators.
